The 1st generation Peugeot 3008 which is a compact crossover SUV was released in 2007 with codename T84 and went sale in Europe since 2008. in 2016, the 2nd generation Peugeot 3008 with codename P84 was released and there was a facelifted edition in 2020. Last year in 2023, the 3rd new generation Peugeot 3008 with codename P64 was released and the electric version is also called as Peugeot e-3008. According to sales statistics, Peugeot 3008 is one of the best-selling SUV in many countries and regions such as Europe and China.

The 1st generation Peugeot 3008 was released in 2008 in Europe, however, it was not entered into Chinese market soon. From 2011 to late 2012, global edition 3008 was imported from Europe to China.

In late 2012, the China edition Peugeot 3008 was manufactured by joint venture enterprise Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën as the 2013 model year. The size of China edition 3008 is longer than the global edition, and its exterior is different significantly.

The global Peugeot 3008 was upgraded to the 2nd generation in 2016, and there was also a facelifted edition for the Peugeot 3008 in China, however, it is also considered as the 1st generation, in fact, the 1st generation Peugeot 3008 in China was discontinued until 2019.
